It’s Okay to Say “No”

2012 is fast becoming the Year of Lessons.

Laura Oldham, owner of El-Be Social Marketing, shared with me a wonderful article from Design Sponge.

Many times, I fear I will miss opportunities when saying, “No” to something that sounds great on paper, but then doesn’t seem right in terms of time and cost. Author Grace Bonney sums up her words of wisdom at the end of her article below:

1. ONLY EMBARK ON SITUATIONS THAT ARE RESPECTFUL OF YOUR TIME, YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND YOUR HEALTH

2. OPPORTUNITIES ARE RARELY LUCK- THEY ARE OFTEN THE RESULT OF HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE- TRUST THAT YOU CAN CREATE THEM AGAIN.

3. YOU CAN’T CONTINUE TO INNOVATE IF YOU’RE TOO TIRED TO DO YOUR BEST WORK. LEAVE TIME TO REST, RESTORE AND BECOME INSPIRED.

Reading this article gave me a shot of confidence, and I hope it does the same for you!
